  • Can I pay in installments?
  • No.

  • How far in advance do I have to reserve the space?
  • Saturdays are the most popular and they tend to book up one to three weeks ahead of time. Other than that it's on a first come, first serve basis and changes daily. The best times in order of availability are week-days, then Sundays and lastly nights and Saturdays. Again, this changes daily because it's first come, first serve. While we do not hold or reserve the space as mentioned above, we will wait appropriately for mailed checks to arrive for bookings. Teachers pay per eight week session or month to month.

  • What hours can I use it?
  • Pretty much anytime between 6AM and 12 Midnight. Just let us know what you want!

    .
  • Do I get exclusive rights to the theatre space, or are classes and other rehearsals going to be held on your set during the day and after shows?
  • It depends on what you're doing. I do not book two classes in the studio without notifying both parties. I need specifics.

  • Musicians/Demos
  • I get a ton of calls requesting rental time to produce a "demo" from rappers, singers, musicians. I am not that kind of studio and Richard at AMP Rehearsal down the street gets a lot of calls from actors and teachers for rental space - well the confusion ends here. If you need MUSICAL studio time call Richard, he's down the street by the El Portal near Lankershim and Chandler, 5259 Lankershim Boulevard - between Chandler and Magnolia. (818) 761-2670. Good luck!

  • What are the stage measurements?
  • The front studio which totals out to 1000 square feet has a stage that is approximately sixteen feet wide by seventeen feet long. The back studio which totals out to about 400 square feet has a stage that is ten feet by thirteen. Both with track lighting.

  • How many seats are there?
  • Seating accommodates approximately 57-59 people.

  • Is there room to add folding chairs if necessary and allowed?
  • NO.

  • Do you have dressing rooms?
  • Yes, two dressing areas back stage one for men, one for women.

  • Movie Screenings?
  • Yes, if you have the equipment and want to bring it in.

  • Shooting? Filming?
  • NO. No bands and no digital or film shooting. Casting and rehearsals are fine as mentioned above.

  • Restrooms?
  • One, large, clean, unisex restroom available during performances - audience access - yes.

  • Lobby space/waiting areas for patrons?
  • Front lobby/waiting area will accommodate a small number of people. For performances there is room for coffee and condiments as well. We also have umbrella table and chairs in the front on the sidewalk which accommodates 6-12 people or more. And of course, if running auditions, you always have the option of booking the entire space and using the front 1000 square foot room as a waiting area as well. It's really a matter of preference.

  • Is it located near subways and bus stops? Are there conveniently located restaurants and delis?
  • Located two and-a-half blocks North of the Chandler Metro Station and two blocks North of Burbank Boulevard. So that's about three blocks from all the North Hollywood build up of lofts, new HOWS Market, etc. If you get to Hatteras, you've gone too far. Zip code is 91601 for mapping on the Internet. Main bus line runs up and down Lankershim. Lankershim is a very popular and busy street. Well known and very easy to find. Soul food a block away as well as an El Salvadoran Restaurant about a block away and plenty of fast food within one and two blocks. There is also a 99 cent store - walking distance - one block south and Vons is about three blocks north - all on Lankershim. If you check out the web site www.nohoartsdistrict.com you will find numerous listings of restaurants inn the area very close to the theatre.

  • Is there parking? Are there suitable entrances and restrooms for handicapped patrons?
  • Parking is free. No meters. Parking is limited to 2 hours during business hours. The entrances and hallways are NOT really suitable for handicapped but we've managed to get two huge wheel chairs in the theatre so call in advance. Night time parking is great. Ample after 7PM.

  • Does the building have phones, vending machines, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven? How about a fax machine and copier? Can I borrow items from the office, or should I bring my own stapler and tape dispenser?
  • No office supplies. Fridge, and microwave and coffee available on a limited basis. Nice large tables for auditions and table reads and plenty of chairs. There is a baker's rack where you may place water and cups and munchies and there is a coffee maker if you wish to supply your own coffee, filters, etc. We do have a cooler that we will make available upon request.

  • Cleanliness: Do the stage, house, dressing rooms, and restrooms have regular cleaning and maintenance?
  • Extremely clean. No food or drink in the theatre - only bottled water and no gum! Thank you!

  • Is there an extra charge for air conditioning, electricity, janitorial services, or marketing of my show?
  • There are no additional charges for audition rentals or class rentals besides hourly or monthly rate. Performances are on a case by case basis. Please inquire regarding marketing. This is also handled on a case by case basis.

  • Tickets: How is the box office run and during what hours is it open for business? Do you take a percentage of our box office? Do I have to provide someone to work the box office before shows? And who's going to take those tickets--a venue employee or a friend who was coerced into volunteering?
  • Handled on a case by case basis. What do you WANT to do? Ask and we'll try to get you what you need.

  • Tech: Is there any staff support available, such as designers, technicians, etc., and does that cost extra? Are there restrictions on what type of set or lighting I'm able to install and use? What does the sound system consist of? Are there players for both tapes and CDs, and do you get access to all the equipment in the booth? Do you have a tech contract rider with detailed inventory of the equipment that's either provided or for rent? What are the load-in and load-out requirements, and can you do it without getting a parking ticket from the police or being towed?
  • We have a 3 CD changer /recorder with mic for voiceover that you can record or use live during the performance. 3CD / Hi speed dubbing tape deck for cassettes. 16 channel Amp and 12 " speakers. Great sound! 2 16 scene programmable light board. Usage is again, case by case basis. Please inquire. Loading is not a problem. Obviously the size of our stage will dictate what "type" or how elaborate your set can be.
