Negro Ensemble Company Alumni Charles Weldon Directs and Stars in Gritty Off-Broadway Production. Riprap Studio Theatre in North Hollywood celebrates its second birthday on Lankershim Boulevard with the West Coast Premiere of the stage play The Offering, a play in two acts, written by Gus Edwards and directed by Obie winner Charles Weldon. Charles will also star in the production as Big Bob Tyrone for the eight week run. Charles Weldon and fellow Negro Ensemble Company "NEC" alumna Sandra Maria Nutt welcome you to the show. Katia Bokor was born in Moscow Russia. Via a short stay in Budapest, Hungary she moved with her family to Washington D.C. where she started taking ballet classes at age 6 at the Washington School of Ballet. Back in Budapest she was admitted to the Hungarian Dance Academy. As a student of former ballet star ZSUZSA KUN, she excelled and gained a scholarship at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. Katia's debut was at age 11 in Aida, starring Placido Domingo at the Erkel Opera House in Budapest. She has also appeared in Moscow at the Bolshoi Theater. Katia has been studying, under scholarship, as a full time student for two years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. (GINNY)


Sandra Maria Nutt. Originally from Ohio, Sandy has a B.A. in Theatre and Drama from the University of Michigan. A few days after arriving in New York, she was cast as Joanne in the stage play Forever My Darlin' directed by famed actor John Amos. Sandy worked at the Negro Ensemble Company ("NEC") under the tutelage of Douglas Turner Ward, originating the role of Tiche in the WE Series of plays written by Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Fuller. Playing opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Charles Weldon, E. "Skeeter" Williams and numerous other talented NEC Alumni, sandy performed in New York and with the National Tour of the four-part series of plays. Upon arriving in Los Angeles Sandy immediately obtained her SAG card appearing in a Guest Star role on the television series Murphy Brown. Sandy has added writing, and producing to her resume producing her first digital feature Who's Gonna' Love You Tomorrow?. She is the winner of Kodak's Champagne Celebration Award for first and second time filmmakers. Sandy is the owner and operator of Riprap Studio Theatre and she will appear as PRINCESS. Candice Sumera first discovered her passion for performing as a dancer. She received numerous awards for her abilities in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and choreography, but it was her love of movies and a deep desire to find a voice as an actress that led her to New York. There Candice attended the prestigous American Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was Candice's East Indian background that helped her land her first film role in a Pakistani drama titled "Tum Hi Tum Ho" (You Are The One). She was next cast in Orestes Matacena's directorial debut "Sex Guns Money at 20" which just premiered at the Silverlake Film Festival. Candice currently studies with the acclaimed Gloria Gifford and is excited to have a script in development for Rebel Planet Productions, which boasts Robert Townsend as Executive Producer.(GINNY)


Donn Swaby. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Donn Swaby graduated from the Boston University School of Theatre Arts with a BFA in acting. For three years he played the role of Chad Harris, the intense, aspiring music producer on NBC's hit soap opera, Passions. He has been nominated for two Soap opera Digest Awards: Outstanding Male Newcomer and Outstanding Younger Lead Actor. He played Yeoman Davis in the Ridley Scott film G.I. Jane with Demi Moore, and the role of Glasses in the film Raw Nerve with Mario Van Peebles. Donn also produced and starred in William Hanley's three-act play Slow Dance on the Killing Ground for which he and his cast received an N.A.A.C.P. Theatre Award nomination for Best Ensemble. Christopher Warren is a graduate of the Meisner/Carville School of Acting. Since relocating from Indianapolis, Christopher has consistently landed roles in film and television including ER, The Beast, The Pretender, Working and On Common Ground. It is an honor and privilege to reprise the role of Martin under the direction of Charles Weldon. (MARTIN)




Charles Weldon, a veteran actor of stage, film and television is an original member of the Negro Ensemble Company. He began his career in show business with the Paradons, a doo-wop-rhythm and blues singing group who originally recorded the hit, Diamonds and Pearls. His first stage appearance was in Big Time Buck White with Muhammad Ali. Since then, Charles has worked in many films including Stir Crazy, Drop Squad, Rooster Cogburn, and Malcolm X. His TV credits include Roots: The Next Generation, A Woman Called Moses, Law & Order, All My Children, New York Undercover,, and many episodes of Police Story. On and Off Broadway and regional credits include: The Brownsville Raid, The River Niger, A Soldiers Play, The River Niger, The Great MacDaddy, Fences, Much Ado About Nothing and King Headley. Charles originated the role of MARTIN in The Offering in New York for which he won an Obie. He is Co-Founder and President of ANEC the Alumni of the Negro Ensemble Company. E. "Skeeter" Williams has been a professional actor for more than 25 years. A graduate of Boston University, he has appeared in The Antwone Fisher Story, Ali, The Hughleys, Jackie Brown, Brother From Another Planet, NYPD Blue, The Practice, Seinfeld, and The Steve Harvey Show. Broadway credits include Pirates of Penzance and The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel. Other theatre credits include Negro Ensemble Company, Manhattan Theatre Club and practically every regional stage in America. (BIG BOB TYRONE) ***


PaSean Wilson, a not so recent transplant from New York has performed on Broadway in Once On This Island. She co-starred opposite Demi Moore in Striptease and has appeared on television as a series regular on the now defunct NBC soap opera Another World as Assistant D.A. Dana Kramer. PaSean has also made guest star appearances on such shows as UPN's One on One and Beverly Hills 90210. Her most recent film credits are Heart of a Champion starring as gospel singer Carman and the newly released Tapped Out available on video in November 2003. On the small screen PaSean can now be seen portraying Halle Berry's friend in the Sydney Pollack directed PSA for the Martin Luther King Foundation. TV viewers may also recognize PaSean as one of the Yoplait Yogurt girls "This is so good, I'm actually in pain"! (PRINCESS) ***
