Please take this time to view all the archived clips from our show that you haven't yet seen (or watch them again!) and please VISIT OUR FORUM for the status of your submissions, auditions, job board, and more. Also be sure to look for new articles by Barry M. Putt on our web page THE BUSINESS SIDE OF WRITING WITH BARRY. SCRIPT ANALYSIS - UNCUT - Episode 52 Each week at the theatre, RACHEL SORSA KHOURY and DONACO SMYTH read and discuss original works submitted to Riprap Entertainment. Their critique determines what will be produced on our stage during the 2007 season. We can only air a portion of their discussion on our weekly half-hour broadcast. However, their in-depth analysis is uncut here, on the web in addition to the shorter version on our weekly broadcast. RAPIST is a novel written by JAMES M. RUSSELL of Toronto CANADA. Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlett Letter, the author began to wonder - - suppose the protagonist punished himself instead of society punishing the protagonist. Suppose the hero was a teenage boy who raped his friend, living today instead of a woman in the 1600s? Patrick, the protagonist decides that if the court isn't going to punish him for his crime, then he is going to punish himself. Broadcast segment - 4.5 minutes Uncut segment - 15 minutes |
