George’s one-act HELLO, MARY LOU is being produced by the Theatre-Studio in NY April – May 2007, and his play SHE IS AND SHE ISN'T is being produced by the Amherst Players in May 2007. Mr. Freek’s other plays have been produced by the Changing Scene Theatre in Denver, the Revolution Theatre Company in Chicago, the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, the Heartlande Theatre in Detroit, the West Coast Ensemble in LA, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, the Vortex Theatre in Austin, TX, the 13th Street Repertory in NYC, the Kraine Theatre in NYC (by Love Creek Productions), and Blue Box Productions in NYC. They have also been produced in Canada, Malta, India, and Australia and by many high schools and colleges. George Freek has spent playwriting residencies at Southern Methodist University and Southern Illinois University, and has received grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. His play WAITING FOR JULIA has been published by Playscripts, Inc., WHO'S HAMLET and SPUNK by Lazy Bee Scripts in the UK, and THE STRANGER IN STANLEY'S ROOM and PERVERSE PSYCHOLOGY by Comedy Plays in the UK.
