Comments and Press Notes

Read what people think about RIPRAP ENTERTAINMENT TV (formerly Riprap Writers' Playhouse). Anyone can submit comments. If you're nice, I might print them. Thanks and enjoy!

[Fri, 25 May 2007] Sandy an Co.,
Didn't realize that in addition to producing stage plays, you have a progressive political bent ... and do comedy! I like well-rounded people. Pun intended. I caught the show this afternoon, and it's great. Good notes on the stage play, and the dynamics in both GirlTalk and LegalAsses (it's what you really meant, right?) is pretty damned entertaining -- I'm always looking for good Intel. Keep up the good work.

[May 21, 2007] Sandra,
Yes, please feel free to post the comments! I love the uniqueness of your projects. And I am incredibly happy that you would like to stage a reading of my play. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate Sandra, Rachel and Donaco. Their recent critique of my play on Episode 46 was very, very helpful. Finding a home for a new play is always very difficult (because you really don't know what is going to move people or not), but I was encouraged by your comments. Yes, there were some problem areas for me in the play, too, and I am open to developing this story even further. So, let us stay in touch if for nothing else but to continue this dialogue. Again, thank you for creating such a unique opportunity for playwrights.

[April 20, 2007] Hi Sandy,
I just discovered Riprap Entertainment in the most circuitous manner -- specifically, while looking through one of "Writer's Digest's" 101 Best Web Sites -- "Writers' Gazette."

What a creative, clever Web site, presentation, and agenda you have. I'm very surprised I haven't heard of you till now, but I'm positive you (personally) and your ensemble will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. I was tempted to call you a shelter in the storm since it's actually raining in southern California today, which I also call home.

I will be sure to tune in your program, starting today!
Sincerely,
Lew Riley
Yorba Linda, CA

My studio theatre will celebrate its second birthday in November and I'm happy that I've not just put up any old thing to pay the rent. I want quality plays and quality directors and actors, not quantity. (Click on image to read entire article. 562K Adobe Acrobat Reader file)

November 12, 2001 - Thank you for existing . . . I just spent the last two hours working with your site. I am in heaven. Again, thank you for your prompt response and the yeoman's creative guardians Riprap remains. Thank you for your philosophy. Refreshing, heroic and finally good enough to be true.
Nathan Ross Freeman

August 31, 2001 -- What a great website!!!! Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. I will return to this site, it's much fun.
Donna

December 16, 2000 -- I think it's an incredible concept. Having had my work performed several times, I know it always sounds different when performed out loud. This is a great way to give writers insight into their own work while exposing them to the world at large.
Eric

June 8, 2000 -- I want to thank you for the video, the certificate and the beautiful award from Riprap. You did an excellent job with the reading. As a corporate theater writer, recognition is rarely forthcoming. I'm never on site when the show goes on, so the kudos usually don't get back to me until a year later when I'm hired to do the next annual meeting. This award and the notice has been greatly appreciated.

I'm sure your efforts don't get the credit you deserve for all your hard work and long hours. I hope someone notices what you are doing and you get the "Big Break" you've earned. Best wishes and good luck with the future of Riprap.
Jim Gustafson

May 2000 -- I received the award and certificate for A Light in the Dark on Tuesday. I wanted to thank you again. Both the certificate and award are nicely done and personalized! Very nice! You did a great job.

Tuesday, March 7, 2000 - Hi Sandy, got the tape and I loved it! Thanks a lot! Am working on something else to send to you. Great job as always!!!!!
Emilio J. Iasiello

Sat. Feb. 26, 2000 -- I received the tape of Footprints yesterday and watched it with an incredible amount of trepidation. What would my words sound like? What would the format be? What would be cut and what would remain? I poured myself an Absolut on the rocks and pressed PLAY.

By the end of the tape I had tears in my eyes. What you've accomplished is really incredible. You've taken the heart of my script, shown us who the characters are and where it is going and then cut it right where we want to know more.

How you do it without asking for money or linking every banner in the known world on your website is beyond me.

I'd like you to, if it's appropriate, allow me to, by e-mail contact each of the actors and convey my comments about how very well they connected with my characters and their performances.

And you, Sandy (Sarah) kudos to you on your direction, spokespersonship and acting. As usual, words are just that, words that are really inadequate to convey my thanks to you and your cast. If there is ANYTHING that I can do to further Riprap, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask. Please know that I will do everything in my scope of things to let everyone know what an incredible job you have done. Thank you so much.
Ron Barenburg

Feb 28, 2000 -- I am very impressed with your dedication and the amount of work that you are obviously putting into this project. I would like to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you.
Jason (Actor)

Feb. 2000 - I've just found your site via INKSPOT.COM site, and it sounds exciting. Thanks again for such a unique venue.
Joe (Writer)

May 1999 -- I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to be a part of Riprap Writers' Playhouse. More Importantly, however, is the significance of the project you have created. I truly believed there is a need for a forum to expose unknown writers - both to the entertainment industry and the general public and that's exactly what you have done.
Kathleen Hillman (Actress)
